A multi-source light therapy head that combines true laser diodes + superluminescent diodes (SLDs) + LEDs. The largest and most fully equipped laser soundhead. The innovative design of the 27808 enhances treatment effectiveness. Diode mix & wavelengths (the core feature).

Inside the applicator are 33 emitters totaling ~1440 mW output:

5 × Laser diodes
850 nm, 200 mW each (infrared, deeper tissue penetration).
8 × SLD diodes
880 nm, 25 mW each (infrared, broad coherent-like output).
8 × SLD diodes
950 nm, 15 mW each (infrared, very deep-targeting band).
12 × LED diodes
670 nm, 10 mW each (red light, more superficial targets).

Why this matters:
Exploring the Applications of the 27808 Therapy System

Multiple wavelengths let clinicians target different tissue depths in one treatment.

Mixing laser + SLD + LED gives a blend of high-intensity focal energy (lasers) and broad, uniform coverage (SLDs/LEDs).

Power & Coverage

Total power: 1440 mW (1.44 W) across the cluster.

Treatment style: designed for large-area, faster coverage vs. a single-diode probe—useful for broad muscle groups, joint regions, or multi-site pain areas.

Compatibility

Designed for Chattanooga laser systems such as Vectra Genisys / Genisys TranSport and also listed as compatible with Vectra Neo units that have the laser module.

Based on the above design, typical advantages are:

This innovative multi-source light therapy head is particularly beneficial for physical therapy and rehabilitation settings. Clinicians can utilize its capabilities to enhance the healing process of various musculoskeletal injuries. For example, a patient recovering from a sports-related injury can benefit from this therapy, as it allows for simultaneous treatment of superficial and deep tissues. This not only accelerates recovery but also reduces the overall treatment time required for effective healing. The advanced technology ensures that patients receive a comprehensive treatment session tailored to their specific needs.

In addition, the use of multiple wavelengths means that practitioners can address a variety of conditions ranging from acute pain to chronic diseases. Studies have shown that combining different light frequencies can significantly enhance tissue repair. For instance, infrared light therapy is widely recognized for its efficacy in improving blood circulation, which is crucial for tissue recovery. Similarly, the red light emitted by the LEDs can stimulate fibroblast activity, promoting collagen synthesis, essential for tissue regeneration.

Versatility:
Understanding the Benefits of the 27808 Light Therapy System

Moreover, many clinicians report that patients experience reduced discomfort during treatment due to the gentle nature of this multi-source system. This can lead to increased patient satisfaction and compliance with recommended treatment protocols. For example, patients undergoing post-operative rehabilitation have expressed that they feel more at ease when receiving therapies that do not cause additional pain or discomfort.

Can perform laser, SLD, and LED therapy in one head.

As part of an integrated therapy approach, this device can also be combined with other modalities such as ultrasound therapy or electrical stimulation. This synergy can lead to improved overall outcomes for patients, especially those with complex conditions. For instance, patients suffering from fibromyalgia often require a multi-faceted approach to manage their pain effectively, and using this device as part of their treatment plan can yield more significant results.

Depth + surface targeting in one pass: red (670 nm) for superficial tissues and infrared (850/880/950 nm) for deeper tissues.

Clinicians also appreciate the user-friendly design of the 27808 laser therapy head, which allows for easy maneuverability and positioning during treatment sessions. This adaptability is essential when treating various parts of the body, particularly in areas that are hard to reach or require precise targeting. The lightweight design means that practitioners can use it for extended periods without fatigue, which is beneficial for both the clinician and the patient.

Higher throughput treatments: 33 emitters and 1.44 W total output aim to reduce time per session for big regions.

Furthermore, the ability to customize treatment protocols based on individual patient needs is a significant advantage of this device. By adjusting the settings to suit the specific condition being treated, therapists can optimize the treatment’s effectiveness. For example, a lower intensity may be more appropriate for sensitive individuals, while higher intensities could be beneficial for athletes recovering from intense physical activity.

As technology continues to evolve, new applications and treatment methodologies will likely emerge. The 27808 system stands at the forefront of this evolution, providing clinicians with the tools they need to adapt to the changing landscape of therapy options. As more research becomes available, it will be exciting to see how this device can further enhance patient care and treatment outcomes.

Safety/Regulatory Class (important note)

In conclusion, the 27808 multi-source light therapy head represents a significant advancement in the field of therapeutic modalities. Its combination of laser, SLD, and LED technologies within one device allows for unparalleled versatility in treatment options. Clinicians are empowered to provide comprehensive care tailored to individual patient needs, ultimately leading to better recovery times and improved patient satisfaction. As more clinics adopt this technology, we can expect to see its impact on physical therapy and rehabilitation continue to grow.

The applicator itself is a probe, but when attached to its base unit it is part of a Class 3B low-level laser therapy system (per Genisys/Intelect laser family specs). That implies:

Eye protection is required.
Use only with proper clinical protocols.
