If you are unsure of which unit you have, please do not hesitate to contact us.

ULTRASOUND GEL NOT NEEDED
It is important to note that these units must NOT use Ultrasound Gel to be coupled properly, ensuring that U.S. waves are being transmitted properly. Legend 2 sound heads cannot use ultrasound gel, due to superior coupling without gel. Using gel may give an error code about coupling problems.

WHEN IS REPLACEMENT NEEDED
It is important to replace the sound head when it is no longer functioning properly and cannot be repaired or calibrated.

Regular maintenance and inspection can help determine when a replacement is necessary, e.g. Cord frayed, no output, error codes, no coupling, etc.

Signs that indicate the need for replacement include decreased effectiveness in ultrasound therapy and visible damage to the sound head as well as Output and Feedback from the patient.  If the sound head does not heat correctly, that could also be a problem. (These sound heads do not heat up but slightly higher than the body temperature).

Replacing / recalibrating the sound head ensures optimal performance and accurate treatment delivery and better treatment outcomes, if the sound head is damaged.

It is recommended to consult the manufacturer’s guidelines for Chattanooga U.S. / combo units regarding the maintenance schedule for the sound head. (Yearly calibration is needed to be in compliance with audits)

Regularly calibrating the sound head helps maintain the quality and reliability of ultrasound therapy output and patient recovery time.

Healthcare professionals should educate staff (if applicable) on the importance of timely sound head replacement or re-calibration for effective treatment outcomes and better patient recovery.

If you are unsure if your sound head or needs to be replaced or re-calibrated, please give us a call directly at 423-870-9030.
