Intelect Legend Channel 1 & 2 Lead Wire – Chattanooga 12213
The Intelect Legend Channel 1 & 2 Lead Wire, Chattanooga Part Number 12213, is a replacement electrotherapy patient lead assembly designed for the older Chattanooga Intelect Legend Series of stimulation and combination therapy units.
Unlike the later Intelect Legend XT system, which uses individual channel-specific lead wires, the original Intelect Legend uses P/N 12213 for Channels 1 and 2.
The lead assembly provides the connection between the electrotherapy system and the patient electrodes during electrical stimulation treatments.
Chattanooga 12213 – Channels 1 & 2
Chattanooga P/N 12213 is specifically the patient lead assembly for:
Channel 1 and Channel 2
on compatible older Intelect Legend therapy systems.
The corresponding lead assembly for Channels 3 and 4 is:
12214 – Intelect Legend Channel 3 & 4 Lead Wire
For a 2-channel Intelect Legend system, 12213 provides the required patient leads for Channels 1 and 2.
For compatible 4-channel systems, both 12213 and 12214 may be required to provide lead connections for all four electrotherapy channels.

The Intelect Legend Channel 1 & 2 Lead Wire is designed for older Chattanooga Intelect Legend systems, including:

P/N 12213 has also been associated with certain older Chattanooga Forte therapy systems. Compatibility with older equipment should be verified by model and connector style before ordering.
NOT for Intelect Legend XT
This compatibility distinction is extremely important.
Chattanooga 12213 does NOT replace the lead wires used on the Intelect Legend XT.
The Intelect Legend XT uses a different style of individual channel lead wire:
- 27312 – XT Channel 1 Lead Wire
- 27313 – XT Channel 2 Lead Wire
- 27314 – XT Channel 3 Lead Wire
- 27315 – XT Channel 4 Lead Wire
If your therapy unit says Intelect Legend XT, do not order P/N 12213.
NOT for Intelect Legend 2
The 12213 lead wire is also not designed for the newer Chattanooga Intelect Legend 2 therapy system.
The original Intelect Legend, Intelect Legend XT, and Intelect Legend 2 are different generations of Chattanooga therapy equipment and use different patient lead-wire systems.
Always verify the exact model before ordering.
How to Identify the Correct 12213 Lead Wire
The Chattanooga 12213 lead wire uses a 4-pin DIN-style male connector at the therapy-unit connection.
The lead assembly is approximately:
120 inches / 10 feet long
and provides the patient connections required for Channels 1 and 2.
If the connector on your existing therapy unit does not match the 4-pin DIN connection, contact us before ordering.
What Does the Intelect Legend Lead Wire Do?
The Intelect Legend Channel 1 & 2 Lead Wire carries electrical stimulation from the therapy unit to the patient electrodes.
During treatment, the Intelect Legend generates the selected electrotherapy waveform. The lead wire then provides the electrical connection between the therapy unit and the electrodes placed on the patient.
A damaged or deteriorated lead wire can interfere with that connection and may cause inconsistent treatment output.
Signs the 12213 Lead Wire May Need Replacement
Consider inspecting or replacing the Chattanooga 12213 lead wire if you experience:
- Intermittent stimulation
- Loss of output on Channel 1 or Channel 2
- Treatment stopping when the cable is moved
- Visible cuts or deterioration in the cable
- Damaged patient connectors
- Damaged or loose 4-pin DIN connector
- Poor electrode connection
- Stimulation that cuts in and out during treatment
- Lead-wire or electrode connection errors
Older Intelect Legend systems may still function properly even though the original lead wires have deteriorated from years of clinical use.
Replacing a worn lead assembly can often restore a dependable connection without replacing the therapy unit itself.
Original Intelect Legend vs. Legend XT Lead Wires
It is easy to confuse these parts because Chattanooga used the Intelect Legend name across multiple generations of equipment.

These leads use the older 4-pin DIN connector system. (These are the leads for the Intelect Legend model of units, beige with 2 rows of buttons)
Intelect Legend XT
Uses:
27312 – Channel 1
27313 – Channel 2
27314 – Channel 3
27315 – Channel 4
Each XT channel has its own individual lead wire. (These item codes are for the Intelect XT and NOT for the Legend model)
These lead-wire families are not interchangeable.
